House District 89

I will serve as the State Representative for House District 89 through December 31, 2024.

I am running to be re-elected as our State Rep in the newly drawn House District 90 in the May 21, 2024 Democratic Primary.

Our district is one of the more uniquely shaped districts in Georgia (and that’s saying something!) From bottom to top it is 16 miles long from South DeKalb to North DeKalb and ranges from ½ mile wide in the center to six miles wide in the South. We are blessed to be home to a large amount of diversity - and that diversity makes us stronger. District 89 serves portions of the unique and vibrant neighborhoods of: Ellenwood, Panthersville, Candler McAfee, East Lake, Decatur, Candler Park, Druid Hills, and Johnson Estates.

Community landmarks are: Georgia State at Panthersville, Seminole Landfill, Snapfinger Wastewater Treatment plant, County Line Park, County Line-Ellenwood Public Library, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Headquarters, portions of the Michelle Obama Trail and the South River Trail, South DeKalb Mall, DeKalb Police South Precinct, Barker Bryant Memorial Park, Scott Candler Public Library, East Lake Golf Course, East Lake YMCA, The Villages at East Lake, Charlie Yates Golf Course, Oakhurst Harmony Park, Oakhurst Park, Oakhurst Dog Park, Oakhurst Pool, DeKalb County Courthouse, Decatur Square, Ebster Park, Adair Dog Park, Olmsted Linear Park, Druid Hills Golf Club, portions of Freedom Parkway, Fernbank Natural History Museum, Fernbank Science Center, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, and Herbert Taylor/Daniel Johnson Nature Preserve.
